Ryobi RotaTech Mower.

One of the many projects we have done for a long running client was this unique lawn mower for Ryobi South Africa, which uses a novel cutting mechanism. The patented system uses a rotary type action with shearing blades. This allowed for a form factor much shorter than traditional cordless mowers.

Concept Generation.

We started by presenting Photoshop rendered concepts to both Jemar and Ryobi. From there we started the first CAD stage, using the tech pack, correct handle ergonomics and folding for storage as drivers for the geometry.

Battery Options.

In order to allow for any future ODM sales, we floated the idea of an interchangeable battery tray that would allow for different brands' battery packs to be used with minimal tooling impact.
